Respiratory Therapy Assistant
Respiratory therapist treats people with disorder affecting the
cardiopulmonary system such as asthma, emphysema, pneumonia, cardiovascular
disorders, and trauma. In the hospital setting the respiratory therapist
provides care and life support to patients in the emergency room. Some duties
are:
· Documents patient care services by charting in patient and
department records.
· Maintains patient confidence and protects hospital operations by
keeping information confidential.
· Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with
procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control
policies and protocols.
· Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive
maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions;
troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Salary: $46,000-$66,000
Education:
You need a degree level
which is current enrollment in college is standard. A degree field, you need
six months of relevant experience. A licensure and certification, in some
states they require respiratory care assistants to be registered; employers
often require CPR and BLS or BCLS certification. The skills that you need are
active listening, critical thinking, complex problem solving and speaking
skills, and also social perceptiveness.
